Open source 3D printer RepRap
RepRap is a 3D printer prototype (or 3D printer), which has a certain degree of self-replication ability and can print out most of its own (plastic) components. RepRap is the abbreviation of (replicating rapid prototyper). This prototype is free and open source from software to hardware, and is released under the free software agreement GNU General Public License GPL. RepRap is a 3D printer designed and manufactured by Adrian Bowyer and others from the University of Bath, UK. It differs from the traditional flat printer in that it prints three-dimensional objects instead of flat surfaces. Yes, its printing materials are not ordinary ink, but ABS plastic, polycaprolactone, etc. The original design goal of RepRap was for a very sci-fi purpose. It kept copying itself, and it was only some mechanical parts. This is also the origin of its name-RepRap is short for Replicating Rapid-prototyper. RepRap can also be used to make things other than its own parts, such as door handles, coat hooks, ...
