What are the types of crimping automotive electrical connectors
When manufacturing a vehicle, when selecting an automotive electrical connector, the current rating, circuit density, wire size, voltage, configuration, and meshing force of the product must be considered. Due to the different sizes of crimping connectors, which can effectively accommodate the largest specifications of wiring, crimping automotive electrical connectors are generally divided into five types, as follows:
Seamless crimping automotive electrical connectors are usually cut from circular cuts to make them look like tubes.
2. Seam type crimping
The seam-type crimp-type automotive electrical connector is cut from a flat material. They are then rolled into a tube with seams running through the length of the connection.
3. Non-insulated crimping type
Non-insulated crimp-type automotive electrical connectors are not insulated, so once they are crimped, they must be insulated with heat shrink tubing using riveting tools.
4, heat shrinkable insulation crimping type
Heat-shrinkable insulated electrical connectors are the best type of all automotive electrical connectors, so they are also expensive. Because of their good water resistance, they are ideal for marine applications and under-hood applications.
5. Insulation crimping
Insulated crimping automotive electrical connectors are available in a variety of sizes and types. Insulated connectors can be straight or open toward the end. Therefore, it is very important to ensure that this connector is suitable for the insulation diameter of wires and meters.
