Types of terminal blocks

What is the type of terminal block, do you know what types of terminal block can be divided into, hereinafter, Konnra connector engineer will give you a detailed knowledge of the type of terminal block have a deep understanding of the type of terminal block.
In general, the types of terminal blocks can be divided into four types: screw terminal blocks, barrier terminal blocks, push-in terminal blocks, and pluggable terminal blocks. The specific information is as follows:
Terminal block
1. Screw terminal block
The screw terminal block uses screws as a terminal block for a method of holding a cable or wire. Common screws have flat head fittings, and these types of terminals often appear when the voltage and current requirements are moderate. Although the solder used for the wire bound to the terminal is not insulated, if it can be used reasonably, the functional effect will be very powerful and can be used in permanent occasions. It should be noted that special care should be taken when tightening the terminal block, as over-tightening will damage the inserted cable, resulting in unreliable and potentially dangerous connections.
2. Barrier terminal block
The similarity between the barrier terminal and the screw terminal is high, and the structure of using the screw as the fixed cable is adopted. Barrier terminals usually have multiple cable termination points, so the barrier between the terminals is small. The barrier terminal can also have a small cover and housing to further protect the cable, and is common in domestic wiring and other high-voltage scenarios that need to prevent arcing or potential short circuits.
Terminal block
3. Push-in terminal block
Push-in terminals use small spring-loaded rods to allow the cable to enter the junction box in one direction, but the connection should be strong, and to effectively hold the wire in place, it can also be called "push-in". Compared with screw terminals, this type of product relies on a spring with sufficient force to keep the wire in contact with the conductor. Another problem with it is that some cannot be reused and there is no disassembly rod, which makes maintenance work difficult because the entire terminal may need to be replaced.
4. Pluggable terminal block
Pluggable terminals are those with cable entries to allow connection of wires or cables but plug outputs to allow easy connection to sockets. These types of terminal blocks may be important for hot swapping, but they can be disassembled when they are expected to be connected, and are very useful in the case of maintenance or inspection. Threaded contacts are the most commonly used connection method for inserting cables, but the screws are usually attached to a small metal plate at the end, which can clamp small and large cables.
